Synthetic molecule chokes TB growth

Researchers at the Pasteur Institute in Seoul have discovered a novel compound that acts differently that any anti-TB drug that is currently used with patients. This new compound is effective for treating TB in mice. This is only a first step towards making a new drug available for human therapy, and it is unclear whether pharmaceutical companies will be interested in pursuing this treatment.
